Surplicing and start of term
At last the choir is back for the beginning of the new academic year and there is music again in chapel after the long summer break! At Evensong on Sunday 13 we welcomed our newest choristers and choral scholars. At a special ceremony, the year 5 choristers received their surplices from the Organist and Dean of Divinity - and a handshake from the Warden – a sign that they have now finished their time as probationers and are more than ready to sing as full choristers. Evensong ended with Sir James MacMillan’s haunting anthem Christus vincit.
We hope you enjoy browsing the term’s music (you can find the music list here), which includes another anthem by MacMillan on 30 November. Keep an eye out for future posts from us - we will be keeping you up to date on services, events and Christmas concerts throughout the term!
