Lucy Ballard, alto lay clerk, whose husband was an academical clerk, and two sons were choristers, has created a beautiful new set of crib figures.  She describes the story of their creation in the attached file, and explains the symbolism and iconography of the new figures.   An unusual addition is the midwife, who appears in the Gospel of St James.  The figures will be blessed at Evensong on Tuesday 3 December.
